Milestone Academy Digital Leaders celebrated ‘Safer Internet Day 2015’ in style on Tuesday 10th February 2015 with a special cake and balloons!
Safer Internet Day (SID) is organised by ‘Insafe’ to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people across the world.
Children across Key stage 3 and 4 also got involved and watched a presentation in assembly on how we can work together to be safer online. In classes children discussed ways of staying safe online, created posters of information and role played scenarios.
The digital Leaders (a group of chosen students in Key stage 3) celebrated in their lunchtime club and reconfirmed all the positive aspects of the Internet whilst being aware of the negatives.
The ‘Digital Leaders Club’ offers pupils with a flair for computing the chance to further their knowledge and understanding and engage in activities from coding to e-safety whilst offering some basic tech support around the school to staff and students – identified by their Digital Leader badges.
