The theme for this year is Space Unites the World.
World Space Week, October 4-10, 2018 will celebrate the role of space in bringing the world closer together. The theme is inspired by UNISPACE+50, an historic gathering of world space leaders which will occur in 2018. UNISPACE+50 will promote cooperation between space faring and emerging space nations and help space exploration activities become open and inclusive on a global scale, according to the UN.
I would like to propose a competition with the winning Phase to receive sweets and popcorn for each of the classes involved.
As the theme is cooperation, the aim is to involve as many students at one point to join in with a space related activity. This could be singing and signing, rocket launches (design, make and throw) even making a gigantic planet or Solar System.
If you are in a Phase where there are satellite provisions and you manage to get them involved at the same time as main site classes there will be many brownie points involved (be creative use ICT…). Phase 1 will start with bonus points due to the number of classes and age of the pupils (They do not have a satellite, lets make it fair). If you are a satellite and have an incredible idea that you want to do just with your classes go ahead.
Please film or take photos of it taking place or the build up.
