More Than Words is a small charity that operates all over Kent, offering free training in Makaton sign language for the parents and carers of children with communication difficulties. Every month they hold a fully accredited, two-day training course in different locations around Kent in order to meet demand. On Saturday 28th March and Saturday 4th April More Than Words will be using the TRAC for their monthly training and Milestone staff/parents are welcome to attend this training for free! The course runs from 9:30am until 4:30pm and you would need to attend both days to complete the training and receive your certificate. Spaces are limited so if you want to attend you’ll need to register your interest on the charity’s website soon to avoid disappointment:
The More Than Words website also has some signed story videos that you can access for free, and they run monthly signed story sessions with Waterstones at Bluewater and Maidstone that are free to access and that everyone is welcome to attend. The charity is also celebrating its 5th birthday with two parties for children (also free to attend) in the forthcoming February half term break. More information about More Than Words and all its training & events are on their website There are also a small number of leaflets about the charity in reception. You can follow the charity on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to keep up to date with news.
