On Thursday 22nd February, Milestone Academy was delighted to receive a visit from Terry Smith, John Croasdall and Simon Rouse, representing the Chantry Lodge Freemasons and the Cornwallis East Kent Freemasons’ Charity who came to present the Friends of Milestone with a donation cheque for an incredible £1750.00!

The funds raised were by the Chantry Lodge, who generously hosted a Race Night on behalf of the Friends of Milestone back in October. The evening was a great success, with some of our own Milestone staff joining the fun. The amount raised on the night was then kindly topped-up by the Cornwallis East Kent Freemasons’ Charity.

The Friends of Milestone has a wonderful relationship with many of the local lodges, and value greatly the enthusiasm and commitment that they have bestowed on Milestone over the years. The money donated on this occasion will be used to fund a much needed, new minibus for the school.

When receiving the cheque on behalf of The Friends, Faye Warman commented: “We are so grateful for the support and generosity that Milestone receives and this is no exception. I had a marvellous time at the race night hosted by the Gravesend Lodge and whilst I didn’t win big on the night, Milestone will feel the benefit from the proceeds for a long time to come with our new minibus. Thank you so much to Terry, John and Simon, not only for the amazing amount raised but for the time and effort they have dedicated to achieve this. It is never taken for granted and is always appreciated. ”

Sarah Goosani, Principal, said: “It never ceases to amaze me just how kind and generous people can be. My heartfelt thanks go out to all those who made the race night such a success and to the Freemasons, whose commitment to support local charities and causes is invaluable to those who benefit from their hardworking efforts. Thank you!”
