Signing Club

This week in Signing Club we had a great time playing ‘Simon Says’. The adults began the game by modelling how to play using our Makaton signs. We started by focusing on simple instructions such as: walk, run, sit, jump, stop and hop.

The students then took ownership of the game, taking it in turns to be ‘Simon’ and coming up with some great, imaginative instructions!

Check out how we got on…

Tim “Simon says be a monster.”

Tim had some excellent ideas for ‘Simon Says’, including Simon says “sing opera” “be a monster” and “be a cow!”

Owen joined in with enthusiasm and followed his friend’s directions. Owen made an excellent monster!

Olivia gave fantastic directions in sign, instructing all of her friends to jump!

LJ got involved in signing our makaton instructions.

It was an absolute pleasure to see both our students and staff take part and really immerse themselves in the signing this week. It was a fun session and we are so proud of everyone involved for their creativity and effort.
